Best known as DJ Wade or Dasvibes, Marvin Wade Reid dons many professional hats. He entertains audiences as a delightful DJ when he’s not out producing a new music project or in his workspace developing a new mobile app.
On closer look, DJ Wade’s wide array of musical projects all boils down to a simple and heartwarming message. He seeks to create music that undoubtedly brings joy to the listener and curate projects that will stay on your playlist the whole year.
Early Love for Music and Subsequent Career
DJ Wade found his love for music and and performance in his early years. Growing up in Jamaica, he played at local gigs with his brother, Bobby.
Dub Sonic, as the sound system was known, became a success for Wade among other sold out small venues in and around Seaview Gardens on more than one occasion. The artist maintained his love for music and continued exploring new creative endeavors as he outgrew the local scene.
Starting from the early 2000s, Marvin, Bobby, and another partner began a music label aiming to produce and manage quality music and remarkable talents.
In the last decade, Marvin would create his stage personas Dasvibes and DJ Wade. He used these aliases as he thrilled crowds with Reggae music across different countries and continents. Notable DJ stints included gigs in Japan, PNG, New Zealand, and even the UAE.
Beyond Music
DJ Wade’s aspirations were not confined to music alone. The man harbored a quiet interest in all things tech. So, there’s no wonder why he went on to earn qualifications in IT and related fields even as he nurtured a growing career in the music industry.
Prior to the start of his music label, Marvin earned a degree in Information Technology from Kingston College. This added qualification pushed him to explore new prospects in the field. By 2009, DJ Wade had moved to Australia. Within one year, he became a full-fledged mobile applications developer.
Today, his music producing projects continue to associate closely with relevant technology thanks to this growing affair with tech and IT.
Dasvibes Today
So, what’s Dasvibes working on today and where might he possibly head next?
For one, DJ Wade recently associated with one of the top NFT projects in Music during 2022, Stickmen Toys. His team created and produced a brand new single entitled, ‘Stickmen Toys Rock.’
Additionally, DJ Wade is currently working on a novel album idea called, ‘Respect.’ This new album aims to bring together creative minds and performers from different parts of the globe for a unified album.
