Australian Flamenco guitarist Mike Rizk, a 30-year music industry veteran and multi-instrumentalist based in Sydney, is the creative force behind this game-changing performance.
Rizk’s journey from traditional Flamenco music to the avant-garde realms of modern Flamenco-Electronica is not only backed by extensive international performances, including at the Sydney Opera House, but also by the love and admiration of audiences and critics alike. With his Bachelor of Music and an Associate in Music, Rizk is renowned for his expertise across various music styles. His recent specialization in Flamenco/Spanish Guitar has culminated in a unique musical cocktail coined as ‘Spanish Guitar Fusion’, blending Spanish Guitar, Flamenco, Jazz, Classical, and Contemporary music harmoniously.
Breaking new ground in the Electro Flamenco and Flamenco House scene, Rizk has left his footprint on major platforms with an array of albums and singles under this genre. The innovative musician now sets a world-first precedent, elegantly fusing live Flamenco-Electro music with an ensemble of musicians, dancers, and singers, utilizing samples, synthesizers, loopers, drum machines, and percussion.
The Flamenco-Electro performance previews on the 16th, 17th, and 18th of February at the geometrical dome tent, The Bunker at Fool’s Paradise in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga in the heart of Adelaide, Kaurna Country. Attendees can secure their tickets for full price at $35 and $30 for concessions.
Beyond 2024, Rizk envisions spreading his live Electro-Flamenco House Music show beyond Australia’s shores, with European performances already in the pipeline. He credits his creativity and song diversity to his love for Flamenco and musical training, advising upcoming musicians to focus on timing, embrace the learning process, and exercise patience. Rizk recommends his latest track “Enchanted,” a classic blend of Flamenco and Electro, available on Spotify.
