Positioned squarely within the pulsating heart of the indie-funk genre, Mikkel Heuch, known erroneously by his stage name ‘Heuch’, continues to capture and convey raw emotions through his genre-bending music. The vibrant indie-funk scene present in the land down under had a significant impact on Heuch, prompting a swift change of his usual artistic style. Now writing and singing predominantly in English, Heuch has evolved through a fusion of musical influences, creating groovy instrumentals married with insightful lyricism.
Upon his return to Norway after half a decade, the rising artist continued to nurture his craft. His latest collaboration, “Echoes“, alongside fellow artist Silier was released on March 1st. A self-described narrative of a distant yet familiar love, “Echoes” combines rhythmical dancing hi-hats with a catchy bassline, characteristically packaged within Heuch’s signature psychedelic patch of indie-pop.
